European Leadership Forum (ELF)

Objective

The European Leadership Forum is an initiative to promote the understanding and application of Leadership in Industry, Commerce and Public Administration, to better address the challenges of today and the future and to match the aspirations of a modern well educated workforce and a well-balanced society.

Leadership is defined as the means of achieving desired outcomes through focused efforts of all those involved in a meaningful activity, by engaging each contributor through participation in decisions, personal motivation and accountability, empowerment, autonomy, communication and  teamwork towards a mutually agreed vision. Leadership is applicable at an individual, team or organisational level.

Leadership has been demonstrated to achieve far better outcomes and although the principle of Leadership has been adopted by many organisations, the unfortunate reality is that traditional management of people is still the primary means of achieving results. Surveys of employees at all levels show that most are not satisfied and could contribute much more with enlightened Leadership.
